On a spring like Sunday, a few weeks ago, we were introduced to a “True local Negroni”. We were at a lunch with friends, Phil and Sarah and a table of keen foodies.
The day started with a Negroni made from ingredients sourced locally.
We have more Artisan Gins than any of us could possibly test in one summer and now we have our very own Campari and Vermouth. The producers of the Campari called Red Okar, Applewood Distillery, have used home grown botanicals like lemon myrtle, Cinchonabark and gentian root. There are two local Vermouth, that I could find, one called Fattoamano and the other Maidenii.
Just mix the three ingredients equally and pour over ice cubes ….its so pretty there is no need for the orange peel dressing.
I found the Red Okar and the Fattoamano Vermouth at the Five Ways Cellars……they also have a huge range of Gins.
