Support you local small business, The Stinking Bishops is open for take away and cheese they are also selling their small but perfectly formed wine list at reduced prices, the Arno Rosé is my go to…
this is a repost from 2015.
I love this boutique cheeseshop/restaurant in Enmore Road Newtown. Owners Jamie Nimmo and Kieran Day named their establishment after a cheese named after a Bishop who loved a cheese made of pear and cider and you guessed it….. stank.
This small classy restaurant is great for lunch and dinner – on limited days – altho you carn’t book for dinner, if you go early and put your name down you will be directed to a wine bar just down the road (this will have its own blog) and called when your table is ready.
It appears the lads along with Hartsyard could the first of a wave of interesting and good food to hit Enmore Road. Hartsyard’s bar spin-off The Gretz is imminent, while a few doors away building work has started at Porteno chef Ibrahim Kasif’s highly anticipated but delayed Turkish-inspired restaurant, Stanbuli. Also recently opened is Bauhaus West inspired by Christopher Thomas – merchant banker turned restaurateur – favourite bar in Tokyo. The venues, according to the SMH Good Food, won’t be the last of Enmore’s action. High-profile operators are eyeing property in the area, with the Shady Pines said to be among them.
Just another reason to stop WestConnex and save Newtown.
