I have been following Scarlett Jones on Instagram for some time now. The road trip to Melbourne was the perfect excuse to drop in and have a look at their physical stores one in East Hawthorn and the other in Albert Park.
Scarlet Jones has now evolved into two concept stores which are home to stunning clothing and home wares from the world over. The diverse range of labels all share a strong business ethic, use high quality fabrics and show amazing attention to detail. The pieces at Scarlet Jones are stylish rather than “fashionable”, posessing a look and quality that are designed to last and last. A couple of examples of the Designers stocked at Scarlett Jones …
Manelle Guibal has become known for her simple yet incredibly flattering cuts, for women of all shapes and sizes. Her pieces are designed and made in France, where they are then garment dyed in her soft signature hues. The soft handle of her fabrics is the definition of understated luxury mixed with comfort.
Japanese label Minä Perhonen was founded over 20 years ago by the designer Akira Minagawa. His aim was to produce clothing and textiles which do not lose their allure through lapse of time. Check out their site for more…
I Would love to have had a chat with Lynn Clay who created the shop, and who has the most exquisite eye, but she was leaving on a buying trip the next day and flat out with a shoot. I will just have to make a return trip because I would love to meet her.
Lynn created Scarlet Jones from humble beginnings trading out of a warehouse space in Malvern East, Victoria in 2005. After quickly gaining notoriety as the place to purchase beautiful items, the store moved to its current space in Auburn Village, Hawthorn East.
