We could only stay one night with Fiona and Ossiel at Casa Los Mangos so the next night we moved in with their neighbours Mari and Carlos at Hostal Ballina. As you can see from the image above their hospitality is something else. The arrangement work well for all concerned. Mari and Carlos don’t have a great deal of english but are the warmest of hosts.
This is how they describe themselves…
“The Ballina Hostel is a large farm house, with large courtyards and portals, surrounded by trees whose mature fruits are within easy reach. Located in a quiet neighborhood, on the road to the exit for La Boca beach from the city of Trinidad, Cuba. For the rent have prepared 2 large rooms in the first level of the house. It is an ideal house for large families, with children, for elderly people who want to rest under the shade of the plants that form the garden of this beautiful house. The rooms are air-conditioned and can accommodate up to 3 people each. They are equipped with a minibar or refrigerator, a TV and a locker.
Each has its own private bathroom, with hot and cold water supply 24/7; in addition to having soap, shampoo, towels and toilet paper. Bed linen is provided and changed daily. Breakfasts and other gastronomic offers are offered at the request of the clients. The parking inside the house is free. The cleaning of the room is done periodically. The telephone of the house is provided free of charge for local calls and to contact the next destination. Book with Rafael Ballina, the host, and know the city of Trinidad by staying in an enchanted house and garden.”
