The Elephant restaurant was a new find in Ubud, Earth Friendly, think vegetarian but with an Italian bent. If you know Ubud, it is 500 yds down from Indus restaurant ( an old favourite ) so on the same ridge and across the road from Ananda Cottages Annex.
The food is terrific, very fresh and the staff delightful. We tried breakfast, lunch, dinner and their happy hour, needless to say it became a new regular.
This is what they say about themselves.......
"Overlooking the beautiful Tjampuhan Ridge in the cultural heart of Bali, we established ourselves in 2013 with the hope of creating delicious, healthy food in a conscious and sustainable manner.
We strive to be an ethical business and are recognised by the slow food movement for our environmentally aware and socially fair work practices.
Our food is 100% vegetarian and we aim to be at least 104% awesome in everything we do. Many of our dishes are easily adjusted to become vegan and gluten free – please feel free to just ask.
Offering a relaxed but stylish atmosphere – not to mention the great views – the Elephant makes a fantastic venue for larger events and functions.
Please come and sit back, relax, enjoy the view and let us serve you."

Sensational – I am definitely going there in May.
We loved it too and met some interesting people there.
Yes, it is absolutely wonderful. What a view and what delish food!
Ah, we loved this place when we were in Ubud last time. It became a regular too! I think we tried all of the cocktails on the menu. Delicious.
