Spain’s forth -largest city enjoys more sunshine than any other major destination in Europe. The Andalusian capital has inspired two of the most sexually provocative characters in fiction: tragic femme fatale Carmen, who rolled cigars on her thighs while concealing a knife in her garter belt, and the dashing lothario Don Juan, who set off from here to conquer the hearts of women around the world.
The place oozes with fan-waving senoritas , bullfighters dressed in gold and silk, gypsy flamenco dancers and seemingly endless afternoons.
It can be extremely hot, we visited in late October and it was still very warm. There is much to see and do, we stayed five nights and enjoyed every minute.
