Tina introduced me to this little gem of a Restaurant a couple of weeks ago, Sang by Mabasa is in Fitzroy Street ( Darlinghurst end ) in Surry Hills
The owners are chefs Seung Kee Son, Jin Sun Son, their son (and Studiokyss designer) Kenny Yong Soo Son and his partner Youmee Jeon, who also used to run Balmain’s popular Mabasa.
This tiny restaurant is attempting to educate diners that Korean food is not all barbeque meat and fried chicken. The dishes we had for lunch, were light and clean and very delicious. There’s janchi guksu, a noodle soup with shredded carrots, zucchini, egg and kimchi. The Kimchi pancake a must, also the dumplings.
The lunch hours are limited with no bookings so you need to get there early
Thursday
11:30am - 3:00pm
Dinner you can book
5:30pm - 10:00pm
98 Fitzroy Street Surry Hills 2010
What they say.... Our focus is to present authentic flavours with a contemporary viewing. We believe in the depth of Korean cuisine and by interpreting traditional flavours in a simplified form, from starters to dessert, selecting the best possible ingredients, we hope to offer the best of all things Korean.
