Saarde home – homewares – St Peters

I first stumbled into Saarde Home when they opened a small store in Devonshire Street in Surry Hills. I love the quality of their textiles so was delighted to come across them again in St Peters. Saardé has expanded it's range with unique designs worth the travel.

The first inklings of Saardé began when Shenol and Verity Kizek were living in Shenol's home town of Istanbul. In awe of the Turkish textiles, artisan-made pieces and the warm lifestyle, Australian born Verity knew she had to bring a slice of this magic back to her home country. It took many years and various iterations to get Saardé to its current form - developing and designing goods working with small producers — mainly in Turkey (particularly central Turkey), but also in Tunisia, Morocco and India.

Sustainability is at the heart of the brand, with consideration on small batches, artisan producers, and individually crafted goods. Saardé designs goods to be textural and make sure, wherever possible, to show the little artisan-made marks and the beautiful character of the material.

Saardé's products — from homewares to its signature liquid olive oil soap — invite inspiration from olive groves, azure waters, salty skin and shared sunset feasts.

Saardé's showroom and retail space is in 202/75 Mary St St Peters, Sydney and their products are stocked in stores in Australia, the US, Singapore and Europe.

“We try to bring a sense of beautiful, natural calm to everything we do. We are particularly inspired by pared-back, earthy Mediterranean spaces that use natural materials and artisan craftsmanship.”
