Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York

Prospect Park’s 585 acres constitute the heart of Brooklyn. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, who had just designed Central Park.

Prospect Park is considered by many landscape enthusiasts to be a masterpiece.

I entered the park on a very cold day in mid-December a few days after a snow fall had melted away.

From the stunning Grand Army Plazas Soldier’ and saliors Arch I wondered onto the long meadow a 90-acre field of rolling meadows that disappear into the horizon.

After two hours of meandering I realized I was completely lost, asked directions and was sent in the opposite direction to home….it didn’t matter I could have spent a week wandering beautiful paths and hidden nooks….
