Last Saturday I went to the Orange Grove farmers market, as you well know, I am a devotee of the Carriageworks market. A friend had mentioned that Orange Grove was worth the visit. Another reason was that my knives needed a sharpen and Carriageworks had made the Knifesharpener unwelcome and he relocated.
This is what I found. A lot more fruit and Veg stalls and I would say very much cheaper. Line Caught fish. You can buy Limoncello. The Home Linen Ladies sell very good quality linen sheets and fabulous linen water. There are vintage stalls and a lot of plant stalls. The flowers I found disappointing and are cash only.
The parking here will drive you a little mad, but it does at Carriageworks as well if you leave it too late. Bread is definitely better at Carriageworks A places to sit and eat your breakfast and gasbag...one of my joys of my market day at Carriageworks is very limited at Orange Grove.
Overall I would say have a look, but go early and take cash for your flowers

Thanks Lorrie. Beautiful pics. I use both Carriageworks and Orange Grove markets. I do love the Carriageworks vibe and places to eat and sit but all the different markets have their charms. May I suggest that using public transport and a trolley is a really good way of avoiding parking issues 😉 Carriageworks is an easy 15 min walk from Redfern station and buses stop outside Orange Grove school. Also I noted a pic of crystals for sale at Orange Grove. I have recently learnt the backstory of crystal mining and the use of child labour in order to provide huge profits for the middlemen of this industry….more here: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/sep/17/healing-crystals-wellness-mining-madagascar?
