Nourishment in the lanes of the Quay

Image

Tina and I are back on the trail of good food and wonderful places to visit ...be a tourist at home and head to the Circular Quay lanes.. Tina is always ahead of the game ....the day after we finished our foray into the lanes above the Quay the SMH front page claimed the Quay as a new culinary destination.

On this little moment out we were joined by Tina's friend Steve who proved to be an hilarious extra mouth and wonderful hand model.

Steve is an American transplant and Tina had just returned from an extended stay in the US so there was a degree of nostalgia in the food choices.

The nourishment in the lanes goes beyond food however, earlier in the year the wonderful Barbara Flynn who is responsible for the best public art Sydney has experienced took us on a tour. We finished that walk in Loftus Lane with the work of Jonathon Jones.

We started with a coffee at Marlowe's Way at Tankstream Way where I used to. meet my friend Bob Milliken then headed over to Loftus Lane and the fabulous Bar Mammoni for some delicious pastries ... the chocolate and charcoal ... beyond! Then over to Quay Quarter Tower ( entrance off Young Street ) for cocktails and deep friend chook, Mac and cheese n'frys to finish off ... or to finish us off...back to Loftus Lane for the Pork roll from Marrickville Pork Roll, sadly we missed the one with crackling.
