The mustard yellow trend – less flashy than classic yellow.

The mustard yellow trend. Less flashy than classic yellow

The mustard yellow trend. Less flashy than classic yellow, mustard yellow definitely adds a punch of colour, but is closer to a neutral hue making it more versatile and chic …. think of it as yellow’s older, more stylish sister.

I picked up these slides at Zara, I wondered if a dress would be too much of a good thing but then found two dresses hiding in the back of the wardrobe .. so I’m guessing not. I do think the skin needs to be a bit sun kissed to make this colour sing.

This from the fashionistas on line ……

“And while The Cut has claimed that millennials love the salmon pink color that’s practically on ever advertisement (think: Acne Studios, Glossier, and THINX), it seems like a new color is taking over the style world: mustard yellow. According to Who What Wear, designers like Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, and Junya Watanabe all featured this beautiful color in their spring/summer 2016 collections. And, while of course designers have been on this trend for almost a year now, it’s slowly trickled down to larger brands.

Bold, confident, and sexy, mustard yellow is definitely the it-hue of the season. Don’t be surprised if you see it propping up everywhere heading into the fall, too! If you’re into this trend, you’re going to love these options.”

  1. The shoes look fab Lorrie, but I still have a thing about mustard, given that almost everyone’s kitchen benches, upholstery and curtains were various shades of mustard in the old days! Janet
