Kahve & Friends is a new Turkish Restaurant on our favourite eat street, Enmore Road. I have my friend Margot Saville ( follow on margotsaville )to thank for this fabulous find, it flashed up on her Instagram feed a few weeks ago with a rave review …. so we headed off for brunch last weekend.
Kahve & Friends are the kids – literally – of the Newtown favourite “Pasha” – the authentic Turkish restaurant 490 King Street. that has been around since 1975. The kids have taken the Turkish cuisine and given it a modern twist. If you are hungry… and I mean really hungry have the full turkish breakfast $30 pp, the table will groan, or breakfast with friends will do you for food for the day.
Anon went for the Menem One Pan Eggs and Peppers – One Pan organic eggs, red and green peppers, tomatoes, turkish chilli, olive oil, ground black and red pepper spices chopped herbs and turkish bread…memorable he said.. I tried Feta Crispy Sigara Borek with Greens – Shallow fried delicate street pastry hand rolled with sesame feta accompanied with sesame avocado fresh greens, herb olive, cucumber, tomato and Rocket. Too too delicious … the kids then presented a baked version for me to try and I ate it all…well Anon helped a bit..
We are heading back for dinner, this is A FIND, thank you Margot. It is both licensed and BYO.
