Well our home for two weeks in December. The apartment belongs to Jacki Lyden a journalist on National Public Radio and a friend of Geraldine Brooks.
We loved staying here. Jacki set us very nicely with wine and snacks on arrival, a list of the best local haunts. The home reflects an incredibly interesting life and travels.
The apartment is in Prospect Park, and a five minute walk to Grand Army Plaza subway station.
It had been a photographic studio, hence the wonderful sloping window. Interestingly, Jacki’s husband is a Photo journalist for the Washington Post.
The lay-out is generous with an office, bedroom, well equipped kitchen and grand living area.
On the office wall is a review in the New York times of a book that Jacki wrote called the ” Daughter of the Queen of Shepba”.
” Writing in deft luminous prose” it said ” A book that belongs on the shelf of classic memoirs, alongside ‘The Liar’s Club’ by Mary Carr and ‘Angela’s Ashes’ by Frank McCourt.”
Ah the places one finds great books to read.
If you would like to rent the apartment you can contact Jacki C/- facebook or I’ll pass on your contacts.
