The High Line – New York

The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Avenues.

And yes it is a tourist trap….But it is also a wonderful way to take in the density and variety of the streetscapes that make up New York.

  1. I think the High Line is another MUST DO when in New York. Was wonderful on a cold December snowy day, must be incredible when all the foliage and dresses are lush …. Apart from being a good walk and exercise, there’re magical angles looking down and into dense New York that offer a totally different perception of this magic side of the city.
