I met the artist Charlotte Thodey and her husband Stephen Westgarth, a collector who works with assembly and collage, through mutual friends…a little later I was introduced to her gobsmackingly beautiful home when invited to a winter dinner.
About her paintings Charlotte says ” I see beauty in very simple things. I’m very lucky that way. A bunch of carrots or radish are perfect jewells. I’m lucky to do something which I consider profound and which is so quiet and singular.”
Charlotte and Stephen very kindly let me photograph their home. It is a work of art in itself.
I did this post a couple of years ago…for more of Charlotte’s work go to her website….
