Be a Tourist at Home – Leura – Blue Mountains

Leura in the Blue Mountains has become a very popular weekend destination. More North Shore than its hippy neighbour Katoomba but there are plenty of reasons to visit.

One is the Leura Garden Festival starting tomorrow – see link -. We visited just before the mountains put on their best Spring Dress but the place has enough going on for multiple visits.

The Leura CWA are very active with a market every Saturday. There is a lot of craft going on in the mountains and this market has some of the best.

I was sad to have not visited the Teapot Museum, I do love a teapot.

Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre is just out of town in Mount Hay road, Leura, one can escape the stress of city life and learn how to meditate. The centre offers courses in meditation and spiritual learning, based on the perspective of Raj Yoga.

A word of warning Leura has made it onto the Chinese travel hotspots so large bus loads arrive putting the amenities under a bit of a stress.
