Anne Schofield, for me, a true Style Icon

Anne Schofield has collected and dealt antique jewellery for close to 50 years, her shop in Woollahra is a mecca for discriminating collectors and lovers of beautiful jewellery, selling the best examples and finest quality of every period from the 18th century to the 1950’s, including special collections of Ancient and Neo Classical Intaglios and Cameos, exotic Indian jewellery and Australian South Sea pearls.

For me, Anne is a style icon. A woman of great warmth, grace and generosity. We ( I was assisted by daughter Nell) had a fun afternoon, a few weeks ago, shooting this style story for the blog..... pairing some of Anne favourite clothes and jewellery.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT GETTING OLDER

– Perfectly happy – I think one needs more jewellery as one ages – good quality earrings and necklaces brighten up the face and brooches and bracelets command attention

DO MAGAZINES OR AD CAMPAIGNS TALK TO YOUR GENERATION?

Not much – I only read them at the hairdressers.

HOW DO YOU APPROACH FASHION COMPARED TO YOUR MOTHERS GENERATION?

Fashion today is much less formal, individual styles, rather than slavishly following fashion. Comfort is paramount
