Our dear friends Alison Chamberlain and Stephen Gibson have always hosted a fabulous Christmas party. This year, after the sale of their warehouse and the recalibration of their business Original Finish, the party became a magnificent Christmas dinner and moved into their home.
The food, as always, was sensational, however, the gathering of friends new and old, is always the very best thing about these events.
Some dishes were from Nopi by Yotam Ottolenghi, we are all Ottolenghi tragics. Anna has made the Sea Trout and Bulgar Tartare with preserved lemon salsa – usually with jerusalem artichoke chips, these are out of season so a delicious alternative was improvised – her own.
I made the Burrata with Blood Orange, coriander seeds and lavender oil – now the blood orange season should have been well and truly over… however…could it be climate change..there they were at Galluzzo Fruiterers in Glebe
There were lamb cutlets C/- Vince at Carriageworks Farmers Market. A lovely tomato salad by Louise. Lesley’s delicious green salad, wines supplied and paired by Mark and icing on the cake Alison’s raspberry swirl ice-cream.
