Sand Edwards is a poster woman for this blog. The sort of woman I think about and love to celebrate when working out what to post. She is a woman, let’s just say over 60, by the way, this is what a woman over 60 looks like…… beautiful, engaged, super intelligent, warm, inspirational, a loyal friend, very stylish. She is so far from invisible in this world.
Sand has always nurtured her friendships and most of all her girlfriends, so it got me thinking what a strong circle of girlfriends mean to us.
For me, the support I have received, without judgement, loyalty, honesty – who else is going to tell you that as much as you love the colour orange it is never going to love you back.
This very much what I want this blog to do. To celebrate every fabulous woman out there. We are very strong particularly when united and far from invisible.
Is your circle strong? Having great friends is largely a matter of being a great friend. The reason why I think my circle of friends is strong is because I invest time in my friends. I value the memories and experiences that I have with them. The girls that surround me are no longer just my friends, they are my sisters and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
Have you ever noticed that the women in their 50s, 60s, 70s that are living long and loving life are the ones that have their girls by their side? That’s why it’s important to build and nurture friendships.
Some memories …
Happy Birthday Sand..
